The Optometric Education Scholarship Program (OESP) provides scholarship assistance to encourage students to pursue a graduate degree in optometry. This scholarship is only available to students attending the Illinois College of Optometry.

2026-27
March 1, 2026 was the priority application consideration date for the 2026-27 academic year. ISAC is currently processing applications for this program.
The Illinois College of Optometry must submit payment requests to ISAC on behalf of the recipients. By submitting a payment request, the institution certifies that the recipients meet the program’s eligibility requirements.
Up to 10 students are awarded OESP funds each year depending on the available funds. Two applicants are awarded in their first, second, third, and fourth year. The remaining two may be awarded to students in any academic year.
The Illinois College of Optometry will submit a payment request to ISAC, and ISAC sends funds annually to the institution on behalf of the recipients.
The institution must verify the enrollment status in the fall of each academic year for each recipient for the term(s) the award funds. The Illinois College of Optometry may credit the scholarship funds to the recipient’s account for expenses that are due and disburse any remaining funds to the student.
